The Calcite Crust inventory field should be used to list stations where a crust of calcite is found.
A calcite crust is a layer of calcite that is thicker and less firmly adhered to the substructure than a calcite coating. Calcite crusts can form over almost any other material. They can be thin or thick. Often, they are fragile and easily broken if stepped on or touched so great care should be taken not to damage them.
