The Unroped climb or chimney field in the Obstacles section is used to record stations where some exposure (potential for a fall) is found but no rope is needed.

Some climbs or chimneys may not be much of an obstacle for normal travel through the cave; but, they could be a series impediment to rescue. If such an exposure is found at a station which would affect rescue efforts, it should be recorded.
